The victory, achieved at Park Arena Komaki, marks Thailand’s fourth consecutive Asian Games medal in the sport, underscoring their consistent performance on the continental stage.
The Thai team dominated the bronze medal match with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23. Despite South Korea’s strong start in the opening set, Thailand countered with effective attacks and robust serves to take control and secure the first set. The momentum continued into the second set, where Thailand overcame a brief South Korean lead to win 25-19.
The third set saw another competitive push from South Korea, as they initially led the score. However, Thailand’s resilience shone through as they leveled the set at 12-12. The two teams remained neck and neck until Thailand reached match point at 24-23, eventually capitalizing on a South Korean error to clinch the set and the match.
This victory adds to Thailand’s impressive track record in Asian Games volleyball, having previously won bronze in 2014, silver in 2018, and bronze again in 2022. The consistent medal wins highlight Thailand’s strong presence in the sport within the region.
