South Korea and Japan are seeking to enhance their economic cooperation by strengthening supply chains for advanced industries amid ongoing global economic uncertainty. This was emphasized by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung during a meeting in Seoul with a Japanese delegation led by Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of the Japan Business Federation.

President Lee highlighted the role of business communities in both countries in driving economic growth and called for expanding bilateral cooperation with a forward-looking approach. He stressed the importance of strengthening business partnerships, facilitating people-to-people exchanges, and fostering diplomatic engagements to improve public sentiment and create further opportunities for economic collaboration between the two nations.

Yoshinobu Tsutsui echoed the need for cooperation among like-minded countries to tackle global economic challenges, underscoring that Japanese and South Korean businesses are committed to working together. The visit by the Japanese delegation was part of the 33rd annual meeting between the Japan Business Federation and South Korea’s Federation of Korean Industries, which serves as a platform for business leaders from both countries to discuss economic ties and explore opportunities for cooperation.
