The companies have their sights set on launching a pioneering vision sensing module equipped with an inertial sensor by 2027. This innovative system is designed to integrate visual, motion, direction, and sound data, enhancing a robot’s ability to interpret and respond to its surroundings. Importantly, this technology aims to minimize image distortion caused by movement, a common challenge in robotic vision systems.
Simultaneously, LG Innotek and TDK are working on a tactile sensing module that mimics the functions of human skin. This module is intended to grant robots the ability to sense touch and pressure across their hands, arms, and bodies, significantly improving their interaction capabilities. Like the vision module, the tactile sensing system is also slated for completion in 2027.
Through this strategic partnership, LG Innotek seeks to solidify its presence in the rapidly growing robotics market.
