Türkiye has expressed its readiness to facilitate a new set of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, as highlighted by Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov. During his speech in Kazan, Ushakov revealed that Turkish officials have confirmed their willingness to host discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This announcement comes after a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Ushakov remarked that recent Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian soil have not contributed positively to the possibility of a face-to-face meeting between President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Despite these tensions, Türkiye has maintained a balanced diplomatic stance since the war’s onset, engaging with both Moscow and Kyiv.
